Why I Took Time Off—and What It Taught Me About Presence

In a world that celebrates the hustle and bustle, I chose pause.
Before launching Target the Mind, I made a conscious decision to step away from work—not to escape, but to reconnect. To be present with myself, with loved ones, and with the quiet spaces that often get drowned out by deadlines and being always on the go.
It has been a few weeks of just being instead of doing. I went to Athens which was amazing and a must see and a trip to Malaga to see friends and what I found was that the word presence isn’t passive. It’s powerful.
As a coach, I often talk about emotional intelligence, confidence, and leadership. But this time off reminded me that these qualities aren’t just tools for others—they’re practices I must live myself. Presence is the foundation of clarity. It’s where resilience is built. It’s where real confidence is born—not from doing more, but from knowing when to pause.
Now, as I return back to the UK to work and officially launch Target the Mind, I do so with renewed energy, sharper focus, and a deeper commitment to helping others lead with intention. This time off wasn’t a detour—it was the most direct route back to purpose.
If you're reading this and feeling the pull to pause, I encourage you to listen. The world will wait. And when you return, you might just find you're more ready than ever.
If this reflection resonated with you—if you're a leader, manager, or business owner who knows the value of showing up fully—then Target the Mind was built with you in mind.
I help professionals develop emotional intelligence, build unshakable confidence, and lead with clarity. Whether you're navigating change, building a team, or simply ready to grow, my coaching and training is designed to meet you where you are and focus on the things that are important to get results.
